| Welcome to the APPCIOverviewThe Advanced Postgraduate Program in Clinical Investigation (APPCI) has been developed by the University of Florida under the Clinical Research Curriculum Award (K-30) received from the NIH. APPCI provides a comprehensive didactic curriculum and training program in clinical investigation for senior fellows and junior faculty in the health sciences. Once accepted into the program, APPCI Fellows may complete a certificate program, or a master’s degree in Clinical Investigation (MS-CI), Public Health (MPH), or Epidemiology (MS-Epi). All programs consist of a graduate study curriculum, a program of mentored research with suitable faculty and a series of support programs of seminars, visiting professorships and other presentations. APPCI Fellows are expected to prepare and submit a grant proposal to an appropriate funding agency during their fellowship. What is providedThe NIH funding covers the costs of tuition and fees for graduate level courses to complete the required curriculum and will also fund courses leading to the MS-C, MS-Epi or MPH. Each APPCI Fellow will also receive travel funds to attend one national conference per year as well as funds to attend the annual NIH Clinical Research meeting. The APPCI does not provide salary support to its Fellows.Time commitmentAPPCI Fellows devote ~75% of their effort to participation in the program leading to an MS or MPH degree, including pursuing the research project outlined in their application. APPCI Fellowships begin with the fall semester.Who is eligibleThe program is offered to U.S. citizens, non-citizen nationals and permanent residents of the U.S. who have completed an MD, PhD, DMD/DDS or PharmD program and have a salaried position as a senior postgraduate trainee or junior faculty member at the University of Florida.
