Welcome to the Autoimmune Disease Clinical Unit

The faculty and staff welcome you to Gainesville and the Center for Autoimmune Diseases. Our goal is to provide you with an accurate diagnosis and an individualized treatment plan for your autoimmune disease. A team of experienced physicians from several disciplines and other health care specialists will formulate comprehensive recommendations for managing your condition. In many cases, you will be given to the opportunity to participate in clinical research projects aimed at improving the diagnosis or management of autoimmune diseases.

The Center for Autoimmune Diseases can either work with your primary care physician or upon request can assume primary responsibility for the management of your autoimmune disease.

Referrals to the Autoimmune Disease Center

Anyone with signs or symptoms of lupus, Sjogren’s syndrome, systemic sclerosis (scleroderma), polymyositis, dermatomyositis, mixed connective tissue disease, Raynaud’s phenomenom, Wegner’s granulomatosis, or rheumatoid arthritis may be evaluated in the Center. We prefer that your physician refer you to the clinic, since he or she can often provide helpful information about your past medical history. However, self-referrals are accepted with the approval or your health insurance carrier
