The Early Synovitis Clinic

starting August 20,2004

We aim to establish an active joint colleagueship with you in the diagnosis and care of your patients with early synovitis.

We will see your patient with early synovitis within two weeks of the consult. Participating Faculty from the Division of Rheumatology:

Objectives:

1. Provide access to rheumatology evaluation for patients with early synovitis
2. Prevent joint destruction and long-term disability with prompt diagnosis and treatment
3. Establish database of patients with early synovitis to promote longitudinal analysis of disease
characteristics, diagnosis, and treatment outcomes

 

The Early Synovitis Clinic Criteria for Entry:

1. Pain of 3 or more joints
2. Joint swelling / warmth of 3 or more joints
3. Onset of symptoms < 6 months
