Steven M. Kraft grew up in Daytona Beach, moving to Gainesville for college. He attended UF as an undergraduate. After going to PA school and working for a year as a PA, he attended medical school at UF. He also did his residency and fellowship at Shands UF as well as being chief medical resident. Dr. Kraft was in private practice for 18 years as an interventional cardiologist, all phases of non-invasive cardiology including echo, TEE and nuclear cardiology as well as extensive experience with pacemakers. He is board certified in Internal Medicine and Cardiology with special certification in cardiac pacing, nuclear cardiology, and cardiac CT. His current interests include clinical cardiology pertaining to transthoracic and transesophageal echo, pacemaker follow-up, nuclear cardiology, cardiac CT, valvular heart disease, and housestaff and fellow training. He has been married to Randy Kraft since 1974 with two sons, Brian and Josh.
