Professional Summary
Dr. Quinn received a Bachelor of Science and Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the Philadelphia College of Pharmacy and Science. Dr. Quinn received a Doctor of Medicine from the University of Florida and subsequently completed training in Internal Medicine and Endocrinology and Metabolism at the University of Florida, finishing in 1992. Dr. Quinn is board certified in both Internal Medicine and Endocrinology. Dr. Quinn served as Assistant, then Associate Professor of Medicine in the Division of Endocrinology at the University of Florida/Shands Jacksonville from 1992 until 2001 before returning to the Division of Endocrinology at the University of Florida in Gainesville in 2001. Dr. Quinn is the current director of the Endocrinology Fellowship Program and also serves as a Vice-Chair for the university’s Investigational Review Board.
Clinical Interests and Activities
Dr. Quinn’s clinical interests include a variety of adult and pediatric general endocrine disorders. With her background in pharmacy and therapeutics she is especially interested in tight control of diabetes through new therapies and multi-drug regimens. More recently she is focusing on tight glucose control for inpatients and patients in the home IV antibiotic programs.
Research Activities
Dr. Quinn’s original research was completed in the field of growth hormone receptors. More recently she has been involved in a number of clinical studies in patients with hypertension, osteoporosis and diabetes, focusing predominantly on diabetes and associated lipid abnormalities.
