Transplant Hepatology Fellowship Program
Transplant Hepatology Subspecialty Certification
In order to be eligible for the new Transplant Hepatology Subspecialty Certification, candidates must hold a valid ABIM certificate in Gastroenterology and receive a passing score on a single-day, computer-based certification examination. For the first three exams administrations (2006, 2008, and 2010), a “practice pathway” will enable established practitioners without formal transplant hepatology training to sit for the examination. Thereafter, only candidates who have completed training in an accredited transplant hepatology program will be eligible for certification.
As more information becomes available, additional details regarding training requirements and examination blueprints will be published in future issues of Perspectives, the ABIM newsletter for diplomates, and on the ABIM website, www.abim.org.
