Transplant Hepatology Fellowship Program
Curriculum/Requirements
Inpatient Hepatology & Liver Transplant Service – 3 months
Inpatient Consult Service – 3 months
Outpatient Service – 2 months
I/2 Day Outpatient Continuity Clinics – 12 months
I/2 Day Endoscopic procedures with emphasis on Liver Biopsies and
Paracentesis
Research – 4 months
Liver biopsies: The trainee must understand the indications,
contraindications, complications, and interpretation of allograft
biopsies and must perform a minimum of 30 percutaneous ultrasound guided
biopsies.

Documentation of Training: Trainee will document
patient encounters, surgical (including procurements)
observations, and liver biopsies. Log provided in Fellow
