Born and raised in Trinidad and Tobago; attended University of Central Florida for undergraduate and double majored, graduating with BS Molecular Biology and Microbiology and BS Biology in 1997 with induction into Phi Eta Sigma and Golden Key honor societies. Attended medical school at St. George’s University, School of Medicine and graduated in 2002. Completed internship and residency in Internal Medicine at the State University of New York (SUNY) Downstate (’02-’05). Nominated for Alpha Omega Alpha at end of residency. Board Certified in Internal Medicine. Completed fellowship in Infectious Diseases at the University of Florida in Gainesville, FL.

Academic Interests:

Interests include HIV medicine and Epidemiology; currently completing an epidemiologic study of Pseudomonas aeruginosa in ICU patients at Shands teaching hospital. Member of American College of Physicians (ACP), American Medical Association (AMA) and Infectious Disease Society of America (IDSA).
