Internal Medicine Consultation Clinic
The Division of Internal Medicine offers a Consultation Clinic at the Shands Medical Plaza for patients requiring optimization and assessment prior to urgent or elective surgical procedures. We also evaluate patients referred by their physicians for second opinions regarding specific medical problems.
We provide a specific risk profile for patients, initiate therapeutic management as appropriate, and expedite preoperative testing as well as referral to other medical sub-specialists if appropriate.

Please note that patients who are already under the care of Shands&UF Internal Medicine or Family Medicine should be evaluated preoperatively by their customary Shands&UF Primary Care doctors.
Patients who are seeking regular follow-up with a physician should request to be referred directly to one of our primary care practices.
