Caridad A. Hernandez, MD is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Division of General Internal Medicine. She serves as a "hospitalist" attending on the inpatient medical services for several months a year and is actively involved in both medical student and resident education. Her areas of special interest include generalist education, cultural issues in health care delivery, and safety issues in hospitalized patients.
Dr. Hernandez received her BA from Barnard College, Columbia University, and graduated from the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) School of Medicine in 1990. She completed her internship and residency in internal medicine at Yale-New Haven Hospital, New Haven, CT in 1993. Prior to joining the faculty at UF, Dr. Hernandez had a successful private practice specializing in internal medicine and women's health.
Dr. Hernandez is a Diplomate of the American Board of Internal Medicine since 1994, a member of the American College of Physicians, the Society of General Internal Medicine, and the National Association of Inpatient Physicians.
