Advanced Practicum Component.     The practicum experience for KL2 trainees is divided into two phases, with the goal of providing graduated levels of experience in participating in, organizing and leading multidisciplinary research teams.
Phase I of the practicum will integrate the KL2 Scholar into the mentors’ ongoing research projects to provide direct, hands-on experience with the research. Specifically, the KL2 Scholar will develop a plan for Phase I to engage in the key components of a multidisciplinary clinical research project.
In Phase II, the KL2 Scholars will implement their research protocols and develop a multidisciplinary clinical research proposal, based on preliminary studies conducted during the practicum.  Phase II KL2 Scholars will have the opportunity to compete for the CTSI Pilot and Collaborative Projects Program
